Course dates: 18-19 Nov 2025

Course attendants: Persons from ILS, other NGO’s and governments who are in a coordinating roles in flood mitigation and response.
There is no escaping that floods are increasing in frequency and intensity in many parts of the world where lifesaving organizations are present. And it is common sense that lifeguard organizations offer help or are requested to assist within national disaster frameworks.
With growing experiences over the years, it has become evident that running a beach is a different game than being involved in flood rescues. During this two-day course, an international faculty of high-end experts from inside and outside the lifesaving community shares their expertise. Learning goals are aimed at how improving collaboration with governments, national disaster organisations, crisis management and local communities. The overall objective is that lifeguard organisations can optimize their potential in this emerging domain and that other organisations better understand how to use the high potential of lifesaving organisations. Formal professional accreditation for this course is pending.
